The Aston Martin V12 Vantage

Aston Martin is a brand that most of us aspire to own. And the car most aspired to own was the DBS, the Bond car of the last couple of films. Now, however, it is the V12 Vantage. Following on from the footsteps from the V8 Vantage this car goes one step further. Despite Aston excessively trying to make the V12 version ugly with grills on the front, it is a gorgeous beast of a car. And beast is the word to describe the specs. A V12 engine producing 510bhp and 570Nm of torque with a top speed of 190mph and 0-62 in 4.2s.

The ride has been lowered by 15mm, and along with modified suspension, grip and traction are improved. The springs have been stiffened by 45% and the anti-roll bars are 15% stiffer at the front and 75% at the back. 85% of the weight lies between the front and back wheels, meaning that this car has a 51:49 weight distribution.

Weight has also been reduced quite significantly. The new CCM brakes are 12.5kg lighter than the old ones. Now, if that's not OCD I don't know what is. Oh, wait! This is: the 19" wheels have even been forged to save 5kg. What do they do at Aston Martin to be delighted about 5kg! I mean, I could have an extra potato for lunch and I would feel like I am damaging this car's performance.

Finally, though, the bad bits. The economy is a rather low 17.28mpg combined. Also, the CO2 emissions are at 388g/km. However, this is probably now the ultimate Aston Martin, so I guess that makes it worth all the cost!
