Opera Mini is now the most downloaded free application on the iPhone and iPod Touch across all 22 nationalities of the Apple App Store. This defeats any and all suggestions by Steve Jobs or any other member of Apple or any other Apple developer that Safari for iPhone and iPod Touch is the best mobile browser experience for these two devices. If you ever need to prove someone wrong who is trying to make this claim please feel free to show them this image:
As soon as Opera Mini hits the iPad it’s more than likely that people will be downloading it as to acquire the features offered by Opera but which aren’t available on the mobile edition of Safari. I don’t think Flash will be available nevertheless…

I don't think it would have been allowed if it had flash. This app has had its praises sung by many people, but none of my friends has it on their iPhone/iPod Touch and I don't have one.
