Like

Dire news…

Facebook is going crazy in every sense of the word. Or at least, the ‘Like’ button is. Every nook and cranny of the whole of Facebook is filled with some sort of ‘Like’-related something or other and even fanpages are now ‘liked’. Not ‘become a fan’ of. Just ‘Like’.

And guess what Facebook’s done now?

They’re teaming up with other companies. Microsoft included. And on the websites these companies run they’re going to be installing ‘Like’ buttons so that anything you like on the web anywhere can be shared to Facebook with a single click. It’s crazy. And it’s also quite scary.

Facebook Like Everywhere

Facebook is turning from a social network into something which seems to be slowly crawling thru every road and avenue on the Internet. Before long every webpage or article or blog post or anything related to the Internet will have a Like button. It’ll appear on the iPhone and iPad and iPod Touch and Android, Symbian, WebOS, the list goes on! If Mr Zuckerberg continues in this manner he’s going to have a lot of power at his disposal.

Fortunately, most of the websites Facebook has grabbed and eaten up at this particular moment in time aren’t exactly the most popular internationally. Maybe in America, yes. But none of the hugely popular websites have got the ‘Like’ treatment yet.

‘Look for the Facebook Like button across the web to connect with the things you care about and share them with your friends. When you click the Like button, a link to that page is added to your Facebook profile and a story is shared with your friends. That page can also keep you updated through your News Feed. Find out what your friends have liked, shared, and commented on through the Activity Feed and Recommendations social plugins’.

Comment your thoughts.
