Nowadays people seem to be very fed up with windows. I am not sure why, as I have personalized my version to run faster which you can read about here. But if you want to do a dual boot then there is only one option in my view, wubi. It is this free download which does the whole dual boot for you. You are then free to choose between ubuntu and vista on start up, which is great because vista is good for office and work stuff, whereas ubuntu can be used with its 20000 applications for games and media, although there are some compatibility issues.
