Some iPad news

Ok, the iPad is safely out in America. But what about other parts of the world? What's happening about that? No release date up until now, everyone had been in the dark. Now, Apple has lit up our knowledge of when we can get our mitts on an iPad and I'm afraid to announce it's a bit of a disappointment. In a press release today, Apple announced international pre-orders won't be up until the 10th of May! Worse still, buying in store is just end of month- no exact date. The reason for this is that the iPad has been a "runaway success in the US" and so they have to keep stock for the US. So, does Apple prefer Uncle Sam to the world? Well, it seems so if they are giving the Americans preference to the iPad.

In other iPad news, there are operators announced as to who will be giving data allowances for the 3G version of the iPad in the UK. Orange, O2 and Vodafone are going to offer the iPad on price plans for 3G networks. Vodafone took to twitter saying "Dedicated iPad price plans for all models available at the end of May. Get the best browsing experience on UK’s best network." O2 used the same tactic saying, "O2 will be offering dedicated tariffs for the iPad when it launches in the UK at the end of May. More details in the coming weeks." Orange said it would offer, "dedicated iPad price plans for all models from the end of May in France, UK, Spain and Switzerland." In those statements they talked about plans for the end of May, so, does this mean the 3G iPad will be launched at the same time as the WiFi only version? We'll have to wait and see, but keep it locked here for the news on the iPad's international deals and dates. Oh, and don't forget to leave a comment below.
