PSP Go vs 3000

The PSP Go was originally dubbed “The worst kept secret in history” when it was announced at E3. Now it has been released at a price of £225. Now, the first question that strikes most people is, why does it cost £100 more than a regular 3000? Well, it comes with 16GB of onboard memory, which is around £50 back. It also doesn’t work with your UMDs as there is no drive for that. This does make it a lot smaller, which is what this console is all about: ultra portability. You also get around £20 for the digital copy of Gran Turismo PSP that comes with it, which you can download from the Media Go store using the code. But it still begs the question why it costs so much more than a standard 3000? It feels a lot smaller in your hand to begin with, amazingly smaller in fact. It also feels a lot more solid, it is lighter as well, but not cheap light, it is a sold weight.
The analogue stick is still in an annoying place, even worse than the normal psp. But the other controls feel much more solid and clickier than the 3000’s. The go does feel so much smaller than the 3000. It is truly portable in a pocket, whereas a normal psp needs a backpack for your console and UMDs. So, if you are loaded, or completely idiotic about portability with everything you want, then the PSP Go is the portable console for you, if you aren’t, then a dsi or a normal psp would be fine.
